Black Belt! Many people start
karate with their goal being to get their black belt. It
is seen as a symbol of skill, bravery, sprit and dedication.
And it does symbolise all these things. Black belts are
not bought at Tokonkai, they are earned. Each person wearing
a black belt within our club has submitted themselves to
years of dedicated training within their art, culminating
in a grading which tests their personal limits both mentally
and physically. Only those that meet our high standards
are awarded the coveted grades. When they are finally granted
the right to wear their belt, they can wear it with pride
as it has been hard fought for.
|
All our black belts understand that
in reality the gaining of the black belt is still the beginning
of the karate journey. There is always so much to learn and
improve on that we realise how far we all have to go!
